Nintendo is promising a big surprise coming up and from the random hints they’ve given it sounds exciting. This weeks release is Evasive Space (Yukes Company of America. the game is based around using the Wii Remote’s pointing capabilities to move around tight spaces and avoid enemies. It not only sounds interesting, but like a pretty different take on what one can do with the Wii’s controls. Life Force is actually a spin-off of the classic Gradius shooter series. This one takes place in an alien’s body and features both horizontal and vertical levels. If you still don’t have a good shooter on your Wii this one might be a good choice.

It’s a top down space shooter published by Akinai Games and is available for 1000 points. The VC is getting the NES classic shooter, Life Force. The NES port and spin-off of the Gradius series is available now for 500 points. But, that’s not all. Nintendo has also released a teaser for something special coming to the VC very soon.

Evasive launch a one-of-a-kind mission to rescue the stars. The universe is going dark, and it’s up to you, Konki the Stellar Guardian, to set things right. Dr. Dark Matter and his roving band of space thieves have stolen many of the Constellation Stones that make up the heavens. It’s time to suit up, power up, recover the Stones and once again bring light to the night sky. Navigate through narrow, mazelike astral caves riddled with space worms, steam pipes and mining drills. Explore vast space stations while avoiding turret fire, mines and huge crushing gears. Weave through cluttered asteroid fields and gaseous planetary rings. Evade the Hazards, pick up precious items and ship upgrades, and save the Constellation Stones before the night sky is lost forever.

Research Before Investing On A Home Theatre

The prime concern while installing a home theatre design is budget. Home theatres are really expensive and care must be taken choosing the right one as it involves a considerable amount of investment.

Henceforth a proper research regarding prices, budget, and designs needs to be made. One might buy a home theatre in different instalementary phases since the investment is huge. However, care must also be taken to check that the present model should complement the purchases to be made in future. Home theatre budget should cover a good universal DVD player that supports high definition audio sound, a surround sound audio amplifier/receiver and matching speakers. These should ideally be purchased together to ensure that the various home theatre sound components provide a perfect match.

Include at least a 37″ wide screen TV along with your home theatre. Do not forget to budget for a suitable projector screen if you will be making use of a video projector as a big screen TV solution for your home theatre. Similarly, budget also for good quality audio/video cabling. Both issues are often overlooked by many. Another greatly overlooked aspect in any home theatre design is equipment power protection. The shopping list moves forward to match room lighting, furnishing, and ambience.

Capturing The Best Shot

Tue, Feb 24, 2009

Photography is capturing moments that never repeats it. Passionate photographers always look for the best shot. Using a compact digital camera can delay you for a second. A second’s wastage of time can ruin a shot of a lifetime. This is immensely frustrating for the photographer. This is when the need of digital SLR cameras is felt. The prime reason behind massive demand of digital SLR cameras is speed.

The secret behind the popularity is the logic of electronics vs. mechanics. There is a device called a shutter that sits in front of the digital SLR sensor, blocking it from light. When you take a photo, the shutter (made up of two curtains) opens and closes. This mechanism is instant and extremely fast. Whereas in compact digital cameras there is no such mechanism. Every time you take a snap the sensor gets activated electronically.

The Digital SLR camera thus, captures a million dollar shot without any delays. Anyone with an eye of perfection and need for the ultimate experience might go for a digital SLR camera. With a Digital SLR camera in hand one can never miss a great photo.

Are iPhones smart enough

Iphones have become popular in the United States. However, it failed to make its mark in the Asian market. Some said it was due to high cost but in reality smart Asians were fed up with the hitches of this new phone.

It makes you handicapped. You will not be able to share any of your favorite mp3s, videos and images with the help of Bluetooth. Isn’t it frustrating? Even after spending so much of money, you are unable to use these hi-tech phones as a modem. The phone cannot copy-paste any document. It means you have to type every time you wish to send an email. Apart from that, it comes with one of the worst cameras available in the market. When most of today’s ordinary phones have more than 3 megapixel cameras, iPhone comes with a 2 megapixel one. You cannot video record it and can’t take pictures in dark as it does not have a flash.

If I want to keep on blabbering, I can continue. Buyers have high expectations from this phone. However, the efficient marketing strategy of Apple has been able to create more than enough hype just before the launch.

Three years ago, mobile phones were but a twinkle in a handful of Motorola and Bell Labs engineers’ eyes. The United States was steeped in civil war, Napoleon Bonaparte was gallivanting through Europe, and Julius Caesar had just been brutally betrayed by his most trusted comrades. Yes, it was a crazy time to be alive — so crazy, in fact, that our dear parents at Engadget saw fit to spin off the choicest, juiciest cuts of phone news into a site to call their own. That site, of course, was Engadget Mobile — and to this very day, our goal and mission is as clear and unwavering as it ever has been: keep you in the know.

Here’s the thing, though: we know that we’d be nothing without you, our dear readers. You build us up, tear us down, keep us in check, and tip us with some seriously good stuff. That kind of dedication shouldn’t go unappreciated, you know? So, on that note, we want to give out a really cool phone — read on!

In light of MWC next week, Garmin-Asus has made a full announcement about the upcoming nuvifone product line. Which, btw, isn’t nearly as fun as spy shots and rumors, but we’ll take it. The original G60 that we have been hearing about for nearly a year seems like it will finally be released and might be a solid contender judging by the specs. Garmin-Asus is announcing a new player however, in the smallish WinMo 6.1, M20 handheld that naturally runs Garmin’s mapping software which might make a larger splash at MWC than it’s big brother.

nuvifone_g60

The original nuvifone, now called the G60, was announced, demoed, and delayed numerous times in ‘08 but it is finally here. The OS runs on a custom flavor of Linux and it comes pre-loaded with your regions maps (North America, Europe, Asia) Plus, Garmin has a new location area software suite named Ciao! that seems similar to Google Latitude but built over the Garmin Maps and compatible with social networking sites.

  • Quad-band HSDPA 3G connectivity
  • Bluetooth & WiFi
  • Accelerometer
  • 3.5-inch touchscreen
  • 3MP geo-tagging camera
  • Pre-loaded maps
  • Car dock included

The M20 might not run Linux like it’s big bro, but this little WinMo device seems to have the stuff to stand out. It’s smaller, retains the 3G speed, and available in cute colors. Everyone likes color options. Thankfully, Windows Mobile has been skinned with a Garmin-like home page with quick links to navigation and such. The M20 also comes loaded with Ciao!.

  • Quad-band HSDPA 3G connectivity
  • Bluetooth & WiFi
  • Accelerometer
  • 2.8-inch touchscreen
  • Micro-SD card slot
  • 4 or 8GB of on-board storage
  • 3MP geo-tagging camera
  • Pre-loaded maps
  • Car Dock included

Pricing and availability has unfortunately been left out of the press release but hopefully we find those tid-bits out next week at MWC. Chances are that both T-Mobile and AT&T are interested in the 3G devices though, but it’s anyones guess which company would end up with the pair.

Nuance’s T9 division — you know, the alpha keypad tech found in virtually every phone sold today — has rolled out its shiny new T9 Nav software after going through beta last year, offering device-wide searching for device settings, applications, contacts, media, test messages, and pretty much anything else you can think of from one convenient location. Naturally, the app uses T9 to work its magic, which should feel right at home for pretty much anyone who’s ever used a phone with a numeric keypad. For now, it’s only available for S60 3rd Edition devices, and it’ll run you €16.95 (about $22) from Nokia’s Software Market.
